Scarlett Johansson is speaking openly about her dispute with Disney, holding nothing back. The 38-year-old actress clashed with the studio when they chose to release her Marvel movie Black Widow on Disney+ rather than just in theaters.
Scarlett Johansson recently shared the details of her dispute with Disney regarding Black Widow.
Scarlett expressed her relief in speaking out to Variety, as it was reported that her contract was breached and her pay was at risk. Despite reaching a resolution, Scarlett was pleased she had raised her concerns. She shared, “Simply walking through a restaurant, I received words of encouragement from strangers, urging me to stand up for myself. It was clear that my actions had a significant impact, and I received support from people who had no personal stake in the situation.”
In 2021, Scarlett and Disney reached an agreement and are currently collaborating on a new project called The Tower of Terror, inspired by a popular ride at one of their American theme parks. Recently, Scarlett opened up about her past marriage to Ryan Reynolds during a conversation with Gwyneth Paltrow on the Goop podcast.
During their chat, Scarlett gently corrected her friend after she mistakenly mentioned that she had been married twice. Gwyneth recalled, “Oh, right, because you were married to Ryan Reynolds!” She chuckled and added, “Relationship goals!” Scarlett clarified that while her marriage to Ryan Reynolds was short-lived, they were indeed married when they first met during the filming of Iron Man 2. Gwyneth expressed her admiration for Ryan Reynolds, the lead actor in the popular Deadpool franchise, saying, “We’re big fans of Ryan Reynolds in our household.” Scarlett also praised him, calling him a “great guy.”
Scarlett had a falling out with the production company when they decided to release her Marvel movie Black Widow on Disney+ instead of only in theaters.
